It may happen that children live in a hazardous and unprotected environment that makes them close or use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, this means take all appropriate measures to protect, prevent and treat them, preventing the use of children of such materials and keeping them away from those involving in trafficking of such substance.
Protecting a child from these harmful substances is to preserve his physical, mental and sexual health from abuse and it should constitute an absolute priority for parents, community and states.
Article 33 focuses on protecting children from narcotic drugs and the role of states in this regard.
