Article 7 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child focuses on the importance of registering children immediately after their birth and their right to get a birth certificate, proving his citizenship in a way that guarantees him full citizenship in the state.
The convention calls on States to ensure the implementation of these rights, in particular where the child would otherwise be stateless.
A child should not leave stateless, as this is an important human right.
